Gerty African Flower Guineapig pattern by Nikki Nacky Needles

Gerty African Flower Guineapig pattern by Nikki Nacky Needles

This pattern is made up of African Flower Motifs. This Guinea pig pattern was an idea which came up when I was making Doris the pig pattern. I used to have a guinea pig as a child and thought it would be a great addition to the rabbit pattern I made. I’ve published the whole pattern as well as it in 2 parts (for ease of downloading). You can use any yarn, but a smaller hook is advisable so stuffing doesn’t show. You can find tutorials online for all motifs and Join as you go (JAYG) and help on Facebook pages (Specific African Flower ones). Approx size: 33cm-21cm: 100g of yarn: 10g Dark cream (head), 15g light brown (neck & head), 25g chocolate brown (body), 20g light cream (leg & body), 30g brown (legs & body). (Daisy 30g green yarn, 20g yellow, 25g white, 25g blue) You can use scraps of different colours or only one colour. NB use a size smaller hook than yarn states (for tight stitches) • 2mm hook • Fiber fill (or similar, like cushion filling) 350g • Yarn needle (for sewing on tail and ears) • Two medium sized black safety eyes (or buttons / brads / beads) • Scissors You need to know how crochet/ abbreviations (US terms): • Single crochet (SC) • Double crochet (DC) • Long Double crochet: round 4 down into round 2 (LDC) • Chain stitch (CH) • Finish/ fasten off (FO) • Changing colours • Magic circle (MC) or chain to form a ring if unable to do magic circle • Slip Stitch (SS) • Stitch (ST) • Join as you go (JAYG)* • African Flower motifs (Triangle, Square, Pentagon, Hexagon, Heptagon & Octagon)* Please post your pictures here and on facebook of your finished Guinea pig! Please contact me if you need help or find a mistake/ confusion in the pattern. Can buy in a two or three pattern (African flower) bundle for a discounted price! Thank You Nikki. Happy Crocheting
